our griswold holiday

Clark: We're kicking off our fun old fashion family Christmas by heading out into the country in the old front-wheel drive sleigh to embrace the frosty majesty of the winter landscape and select that most important of Christmas symbols.
Audrey: We're not coming all the way out here just to get one of those stupid ties with Santa Clauses on it are we?
Clark: No, I have one of those at home.

no, we didn't embark on a family adventure to the country to saw down & haul a tree back to our living room - BUT our holidays did take on a griswoldish sort of vibe.
  • outdoor lights

a ton of work & the surprise unveiling
jeff leads us outside with eyes closed.  1, 2. 3.  we open to discover the notable difference between last years soft white & this year's lcd (or blue) lights.  it's a bit patchwork until jeff later remedies
  • the tree
jeff and the kids proudly pick the tree & carry it home.  several hours later after our tree 'trimming' the tree collapses in the early morn.
i hurt for this tree the next evening as jeff aggressively drills the tree stand into it's sad trunk.
the tree remains standing through the season, though it takes a diagonal / slanted form

next year i've got the tree.  i'm picking it out, having it delivered & the tree man is setting it into the stand in our living room
all three are pretty sweet though decorating their tree
